I rise

I don’t care what the digs are

I float up into the air

Dance with winds

and twist my wrists

As if never having a care

We are all the universe

and, open, to see our chance

We inhale the good

Exhale the dark

The best dance I never had

Imagining the arms waving

See the rainbow reflections in

lakes

Of willow beads below

They dip

as you try to suck me up into the

tornado

Rough, violent

A force of strength, in wrong

You love your own peace

But, for me

Tiny pieces of confidence shattered

That you’ll never know

But, I am the air, sky and

leafy greens

The shadow, the playful daylight,

warmth of sun beating

and our home

I release the pebbles that dash

past me

and I become my power song
