Blood moon.

What your brain tells you isn’t true

The earth has been bitten into

by darkness

Blood pulsates

and becomes part of the light

A bed bug sucking from it’s body host

Then, the fear of nights starts to fade

As universal trickery reveals safety

Exposing shadows and planetary

movements, that

are, perfectly,

Just right

..

What a coincidence

You were ready to see danger

Universal warning, in flashing brights

We look up to the skies

and can feel warmth

and intrigue, at the sky ablaze

Slow dancing into the bed covers

and, sleepily, preparing for

rejuvenation

In, quietening the evening

Silencing busy

and the light

What the sky embodies, isn’t always

what’s true

It’s what you take from moons with

a vampire bite

A nervous system taking your surroundings

and building, to despondency

Or preparing for the big fight

My heart beating, calmly

Without, even, feeling that’s there

Just existing, unaware

When your body is familiar with

a lack of safety

You can be taken in by the deep

reds and the haze

It’s cuddly childhood teddy

or the looming threat of the bear
