Anthem
I rise
I don’t care what the digs are
I float up into the air
Dance with winds
and twist my wrists
As if never having a care
We are all the universe
and, open, to see our chance
We inhale the good
Exhale the dark
The best dance I lusted
after and never,
Forever, had
Imagining the arms waving
See the rainbow reflections in
lakes
You try to suck me up into the
tornado
A force of strength, set in concrete
flavour wrong
I try to integrate
I HAVE to love
and protect
my own peace
More rooted from numb leaving
Than you will ever know
The sad, leafy willow
Loves her beautiful drooping leaves
But, has no intention of living that way
The wind whistles through the branches
gently, safely
No one else needs to hear it
My private, power song
I am the air, sky and
leafy greens
I connect when I live, underneath
At the roots of something larger
The shadow, the playful daylight,
Warmth of the sun beating
and the floating winds, as
words release..

centered, peace
